HomeWhat is RoTaiThe RoTai healing technique was derived directly from an ancient Chinese martial art taught by the Shaolin Monks. Battle weary warriors were healed with the use of acupressure & trigger points targeting the body's meridians. Today, this philosophy is practiced as a unique modality in the field of alternative and complementary medicine. This style of healing was brought to Australia by James Bronson a Master of the ancient Martial Art, H'singi, and the associated Shaolin healing process. James was taught by a close family friend & Shaolin Monk, Mo Tai Show. As James (Jimi) developed his healing skills he named this process RoTai after his teacher & friend. Today, there are a small number of practitioners using the RoTai healing modality with an ever increasing number discovering its benefits. RoTai focuses on the underlying cause of your pain by treating the body as a whole and utilises the body's meridian system & natural self healing capabilities. The Lymphatic and Adrenal Systems (responsible for the release of hormones related with stress) also play an important part in reinforcing the healing & pain relief process. Even though the use of the Meridian systems has been used in Chinese Medicine for over 4000 years, it has only recently been confirmed by scientific experiments that the Meridians have a different electrical output than the surrounding tissues. The precise routes of these energetic pathways and their Qi points have been traced and found to correspond to those on ancient Chinese Meridian charts. Meridians are not physical channels and cannot be examined by dissection, however, they have been well documented in Chinese medicine. Simply checking for correct body alignment is the critical first step in achieving good posture & pain-free movement. Patients report significant improvement to mobility, energy levels & a noticeable reduction in pain after the first treatment. Ongoing visits reinforce this initial relief and help to address deeper, more persistent conditions. Treatments take approx. 1 to 1.5 hours & are conducted in a comfortable & relaxing environment with the patient remaining fully clothed.
